Hi,

The system won't get past the Verify DMI Pool Data screen. I catch a brief glimpse of the Windows XP (.1 sec at best). Not hard drive related. I've tried to install on a various drives after fresh formats on some.

I have a AMD 3000-64 Athlon unit

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

1. Put in new power supply;
2. Swapped hard drives (formatted but no OS install, because I ;
3. Disconnect extra drives;
4. Swapped video cards;
5. Cleaned up heat sink and cleared fans and case of dust; and
6. Taken out MOBO battery and cleared CMOS.

At this point, I am looking at a Mobo, CPU problem, or RAM. Can a system even get to the Check DMI pool stage with a busted CPU or Mobo? Shouldn't I just be receiving a black screen and beeps if it is any one of these?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
