Re: How 2 network Vista laptop + XP PC??

Thnx Johnwill for your response.
I realize that your response is probably a info seeking standard response, and please do not take offense when I respond with "I didnt request internet access" as the ISP service is yet another headache.

Extra hardware is required for sharing my internet connection with this modem (Bigpond (au) Maxon BP3 ext Next G wireless) and I am not prepared to part with a further $300au for the pleasure. I am happy to physically cable connect to gain net access to both sys.

I wish to concentrate on file and print sharing between the Vista and XP systems.
With this mornings bootup of sys's the Vista no longer is seeing the XP as stated in orig post.

I seek initial setup instuctions please.
Extra info...
XP PC = Compaq Evo w4000, Pentium4 2.4Ghz, 1.00Gb RAM, XP home SP2 with current updates. Is wired to SD205 via cat6 Ethernet cable. Samsung ML2010 wired via USB.

Vista Laptop= Acer Aspire 5315, Celeron 530, 1.73Ghz, 502Mb RAM, 32 bit, Vista Basic with current updates. Is wired to SD205 via cat6 Ethernet cable.

Thnx
NT.
