DHCP and DNS are different issues and all client systems need
- a valid IP address (dhcp normally)
- a proper subnet mask (also dhcp supplied)
- a default gateway (dhcp again and normally your infrastructure router)
- and one or more DNS addresses
this topic will show you
how to validate your tcp settings and demonstrate
that you can access the Internet.
accessing sites via a browser, email or some infrastructure server is then
a DNS resolution issue.
