i tried the microsoft link and followed the instructions in trying to correct the problem, however the error is still occuring.
Through some investigating and reading MANY MANY forums, i discovered it could possible be a malufunctioning Southbridge / Northbridge.
I wasnt sure which bridge, but the one that controls the data processing for the CDROMS and USB external connections maybe overloading and premturely stopping the installing application (because it happens when you install from a CD or HDD now.
I had a similar problem a few years ago, i cant remember excatly but i ended up taking off extra CD-ROMS and HDD and only having 1 of each, to minimise the power draw from the motherboard, which corrected errors i experienced back then.
But still not sure? what do you think?
