Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below.
It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

You have remnants of McAfee AntiVirus on your system. We need to remove them before installing an antivirus program. Unfortunately, this will also remove your McAfee firewall. I will also give you options for a good, free firewall.
Uninstall the following via Add or Remove Programs in your Control Panel if they still exist:
McAfee Personal Firewall Plus
McAfee SecurityCenter
Please download the McAfee Removal Tool
MCPR.exe and Save it to your Desktop.
- Close all programs and double click MCPR.exe then click Run
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- Restart the computer if asked
- Then delete MCPR.exe from your desktop

It is imperative that you have an AntiVirus program running on your computer. Connecting to the internet without an AntiVirus program is an open invitation for infection. Here are a few very good free Antivirus products which are available:
Select
one of these, or another of your choice. Download, install, update definitions, and run a full system scan.
Do not install more than one AntiVirus program as they will conflict with each other.
Using a third-party Firewall will allow you to give/deny access for applications that want to go online. Select
one of these, or another of your choice:

Please go to:
VirusTotal- On the page you'll find a Browse button.
- Next to the browse button you'll see a box to enter text.
- Please copy/paste the following bolded text into the box:
C:\WINDOWS\promogif1.gif
- Then click the Send File button just below.
- This will scan the file. Please be patient.
- Once scanned, copy and paste the results in your next reply.
- Please repeat for the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\beep.sys

Please download the Suspicious File Packer
http://www.safer-networking.org/files/sfp.zip and Save it to your Desktop.
- Unzip it to the desktop and run it.
- Paste the following list of files into the Suspicious File Packer window:
C:\WINDOWS\promogif1.gif
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\beep.sys
- Allow SFP to pack the files by clicking Continue
- This will generate a CAB archive on your desktop named requested-files[Date/Time].cab
- Please submit it to this site http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/subm...php?channel=28 and include this link Dss and HiJack this log, HElp please in the message.
- You can then delete the requested-files.cab file from your desktop, once you have uploaded it to the above recipient.

Open HijackThis by double-clicking on the HijackThis shortcut on your desktop and click on 'Do a System Scan Only'. Check the following entries if they still exist:

delete.reg and choose to
Save as type: - All Files

Double-click on the
delete.reg file and choose
Yes to merge/add it to the registry. You may delete the file afterwards.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.- Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6 and Save it to your Desktop.
- Scroll down to where it says Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6 The Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.
- Click the Download button to the right.
- Select the Windows platform from the dropdown menu.
- Read the License Agreement and then check the box that says: I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement.
- Click Continue
- Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation and Save the file to your Desktop.
- Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
- Go to Start(or My Computer) > Control Panel and double-click on Add or Remove Programs
- Click (highlight) the following items:
- Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
- Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java version.
- Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
- Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u6-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
- After the install is complete, go back to your Control Panel and double-click the Java icon. (looks like a coffee cup)
- On the General tab, under Temporary Internet Files, click the Settings button.
- Next, click on the Delete Files button.
- There are two options in the window to clear the cache - Leave BOTH Checked
- Applications and Applets
- Trace and Log Files
- Click OK on Delete Temporary Files Window.
Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE
- Click OK to leave the Temporary Files Window
- Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel.

Please run this online scan to help look for remnants.
First, Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and remove Kaspersky online scanner if present prior to downloading the most up-to-date one.
Establish an internet connection & perform an online scan with Internet Explorer at
Kaspersky Online Scanner
Click
Accept, when prompted to install an ActiveX component.
- The program will then begin downloading the latest definition files.
- Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT.
- Locate the Scan Settings button & configure to:
- Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
- Scan Options:
- Scan Archives
- Scan Mail Bases
- Click OK & have it scan My Computer.
- Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect.
We only require a report from it.
- Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Most(if not all) infections have been quarantined.
- Click the Save Report as... button.
- Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply.
**Note**
To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
- Close any open programs.
- Turn off the real-time scanner of all antivirus or antispyware programs while performing the online scan.
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble viewing the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.
