Let me give you some tough love here. In your emails to the software company,
you need to be extremely specific, be very brief, and as clear as possible about
the problem.
They probably get a ton of email, and you need to make it as easy as you can on them.

I say that because reading your post, it's difficult to see what is exactly happening.

When you say the drive partition was not listed under the software, do you mean under
windows? Or under the program that you used to password protect the partition?

Which brings up the question, have you looked in "My Computer" to see if the partition
is showing up in there?
How about in disc management?
(right click my computer > manage > on the left side, click on Disk Management)
