[SOLVED] HTA Errors in Windows Vista
Hi there,
First a discription of my system:
- Acer Aspire M3610
- Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2x160Ghz
- 2GB RAM
- 350GB HD
- ATI Raedeon HD 2400 Pro
- OS: Windows Viasta Home Premium SP1 (32-bit) (Dutch)
- AV: Eset NOD32 (up-to-date)
- Windows Defender (utd)
- SuperAntiSpyware (utd)
- Spywareblaster (utd)
- Windows Firewall
Hardware:
- Samsung ML-2010 Laserprinter (mono)
- HP ScanJet G3010
Problemdiscription:
I work from home for a jobsite and use a (standalone) utility (.exe) that works with .hta files to call functions to manage diferent databases (backoffice) and the integrated e-mailclient. In short: it is a small toolbar window with buttons to start the .hta applications.
Running the toolbar is no problem and login in to it neither. But when I click on a button to start a function (e.g. e-mail, candidatemanagement) I get the following error message:
"HTA error: Exception occured while calling htaLoadandRun()"
and sometimes the following line is also added:
"Automatic server can't create object"
It all worked fine in XP Pro, but in Vista I can't seem to get around it. I tried chanching all kinds of settings (and back) in firewall, user profile, user licenses etc., but nothing worked. I also called the helpdesk of the firm who made the software, but they don't have the answer either. Finally I posted a message at the supportdesk of Acer and at Microsoft Newsgroups. No luck jet.
Anybody can help here?
