All my Desktop folders keep showing as 'Read-Only' when I go to Properties. I've unchecked the "Use Simple File Sharing" option in 'Folder Options' and then gone through the various 'Security' options such as "Inherit from Parent" and "Replace Permission Entries", "Owner" options etc etc....in various combinations. But still can't get any of my desktop folders to show an 'Unchecked' Read Only box. Is this normal? Or have I done something elsewhere that is preventing these changes to have the desired outcome?
Does anybody have a comprehensive understanding of this Permissions Maze? If yes, Please help me.
