Re: computer turns off on reset

LightBlue25,

Please reply with the exact make model of your PC or motherboard. How old is the system? What is the make/model of the power supply installed?

I'm just guessing, but it sounds as if you've got some BIOS setting configured to put the PC in SUSPEND or HIBERNATION mode when the PC's power button is depressed.

If this is an OLD PC or motherboard - you may have faulty CMOS or a bad battery. If it's a new motherboard - there might be an incorrect BIOS setting or jumper on the mainboard.

Dumb question - but if you have a CD/DVD ROM drive or floppy diskette drive installed - are you leaving any media in one or both of those drives?

Please reply with more detail and someone here should be able to help.
