That can also be from the power supply.

Boot into Safe Mode (hit F8 during the Windows boot screen), and scan your PC for spyware and viruses that may be running in the background hogging the CPU. If you find the 100% CPU usage problem doesn't go away, download HijackThis:

On the Logon tab, disable the auto-startup for any programs that aren't essential for you when you boot into Windows, for example MSN Messenger.
