While going through system logs, I came across this:

The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume G:.

The timestamp on this log is the same day windows stopped reading my external and I disassembled it. Unfortunately, at that time, I didn't know windows logged things like this. Question is, because I have disassembled the 1TB into 2x500gb, does that have anything to do with the other HD being a pain?

While looking at the logs, it seems this was also logged:

The device, \Device\Harddisk1\D, has a bad block.;
The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume G:.


They go back and forth between eachother about 5-6 times per second.
