Re: XP Startup Problem

hello

two things come to mind >>>> for what thats worth

#1 >>>>> I would scan your system with the trial version of Avast ....... that AV program can scan yoru system in safemode !

#2 rather than back-up the drive, I would purchase another cheap hard drive >>>>> used on ebay if money is tight

use the new hard drive to make a fresh install >>>> from there you can import yoru programs and data as you see fit

I dont care for Norton very much, when you uninstall norton it can really wig a system out, thats the reason why I abanodned norton a long time ago, IMHO any AV program worth its salt shouldnt need an "uninstall too"

thats why any of the AV programs the fellas here have suggested are a FAR better option for you

AVG makes a good freebie AV

Bitdefender

Avast

NOD has a trial period one

IMHO the freebies are never as good as the pay for versions, best $30.00 you will very spend !!
