OS: trying to install XP

I think I have a signal strength problem

Hey guys I recently moved into another house and kept my cox cable internet service, I am having alot of slow down and hanging with my connection, I thought it was my router so I replaced it, and it helped alot now I am still getting problems. I will start to download something then it freezes and the internet doesn't work for about a minute then it works fine and the process just repeats. Its like its overloaded or the signal is too weak.

I had this same problem at my other house and I had cox look at it, they installed a little box. I still have this box, I want to try to use it before I pay cox 50 bucks to come look at it and install something I might already have:)

All it is is a transformer box that plugs into the wall socket, and then I plug in a coaxial cable into it.

I tried it like this but it wasnt working:(

transformer wall socket----------
--------------------------------T joint------modem
coaxial wall plug-----------------

Does anyone know how to use this thing properly, or even if I am trying to use it for what its meant to be used for..

thanks alot!!
