Re: XP Startup Problem
Alright so I thought things were fixed...
As I said, I ran a windows repair installation from my XP CD. I began downloading windows updates and re-personalizing my settings. Several restarts later (one that followed a download of a Windows Update downloader and Genuine Advantage tool), my computer is back to its original problem. Is this all just a coincidence, or what happened in the mean time?
I'm running a CHKDSK c: /F right now, but if the windows repair was the final step, are all of the things you listed prior to that futile at this point?
