Re: can't install sp 1
Hi. . .
Please tell me about your hard drive - s: in particular - 1.57GB w/ 1.30GB free space. Have you ever deleted files from this drive?
I am just getting into your CBS log - 10,000++ lines long - but I am seeing the Windows Updates going to drive s: for files that are not there. Also c:\windows\winsxs file repository seems to be missing some original copies of files ... and also file permission settings and file ownership on Program FIles folder/subfolder and common/shared folder an issue (issuing acl commands) - and also with some registry keys.
CBS log starts back on Feb 2, 2008, and seems to be well through March 30 @ 16:26 hrs. Then all quiet until April 16 -15:02 hrs - then all hell starts breaking loose and never ends.
When did you consult with Microsoft on this?
Do you know of file permission settings/ take ownership? REGEDIT?
Also - There might be a hidden partition on your hard drive. The drive is 120.3GB in size, yet drive c: = 112.69GB and s: = 1.57GB == 114.26GB. Now, the format of windows - NTFS - can account for some discrepancy, but a factory setting of Vista may be there.
Regards. . .
