UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME=Disk Death?

Good morning.

I just had a disk go down to UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME. I'm currently in the process of recovering it. (chkdsk /r, fixboot if necessary)

I was curious if this was a sign that the disk was dying or if it's usually just a one time thing.

I'm assuming that it could be either, and that I should look for other signs of disk corruption before assuming the drive is going bad. Would this be a correct assumption?

Thanks for your time.
