Hi savman2 -

Vista SP1 installed - Great News!

Now I understand why some of the results from the memory dumps are so different from the error codes listed in your first post - a re-install of Vista occurred after those six BSODs. That's fine - one mystery cleared up.

Also good to hear about your genuine version of Windows Vista Ultimate. It may be possible that the system "sat" around since November 2006 - before your purchase in mid 2007 - unlikely, but possible nonetheless. I would still be interested to know where you bought it from - retail store, via Internet, mail order, etc... - that is if you don't mind.

I did some checking here as well - this laptop that I am on now was purchased in the State of California in July 2007 from an electronics store chain that operates mostly in the Western and Mid-West United States. My Administrator account was activated in April 2007 - obviously when Vista was pre-installed on it. Another laptop here has a six-month lag time between the activation of the Admin account and the date of purchase. Another is just one month.

For piece of mind (mine!!) check and see if you have a folder named "Windows.old" on your computer.

I will have the full results from the two BSODs two by tomorrow - I can tell you that that one was a Windows Kernel driver and the other seems to be related to audio. I know that you have checked Device Manager and all is clear - is everything OK with your audio as far as you know?

Regards. . .
