"Host" based Flash

Very long story very short.
I'm involved in the development of a web site that will have a Flash AS3 based design utility that will generate a bitmap for use to generate the customer's design on a product.
The bitmap output needs to be at least 2500 x2500 pix.
We wanted 3000 x 3000 but AS3 maxes @ 2880.
The process to generate the 2500 x 2500 bitmap is talking about 2min.
TOO LONG.
We are looking at moving the bulk of the design utility Flash function away from the client to the server hosting the site or an additional (possibly multiple) servers/computers attached to the primary server.
This way the host server/computer system can chug away while the customer's system is not tied up.
Can anybody out there point me in the direction of a site they think is running Flash in this fashion?
Any other thoughts/comments?
