Thanks for all your help.. Sorry I got a phone call as I was replying last night and missed the other items in your reply. It's a little hard to post information because the laptop can't access this site. But I'll do what I can. Yes, I have gone through all the IE, TCP/IP, etc.. properties and comparing them with my desktop.

IE 7 right now, only one loaded
ipconfig:
connection-specific DNS suffix: woh.rr.com
IP address : 192.168.1.102
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1
TCP/IP =
Obtain an IP address automatically checked or dotted
Obtain DNS server address automatically checked or dotted
The advanced tab is also set just like me desktop

I brought home an external ethernet card tonight from work that my IT person says works just fine and it does the same thing. So I don't believe the internal card is going bad.
