Keeping Track of Company Resources

I am not sure if this goes in this forum or not, but I think it does apply to security questions, so I will ask it here. If it does not, feel free to move it.

The question is, is there a way to keep track of what our employees are using company resources (read: internet and computing resources) for? I mean, is there a way for me to monitor what our employees are doing over the internet? If so, how would I go about this?

I'm not the owner of the business, just another employee. But I, unlike the owner, am paranoid about internet security and, if one computer gets infected we're all pretty much doomed (and I have hundreds of hours of work stored on my office computer without a backup). I want to go to my boss and talk about what methods we can use to ensure that our employees are behaving themselves.
