Re: I/O device error
I am not an expert but I wanted to share with you that I have been battling this exact problem for a month now and I was at the point of throwing my computer out of the window. I have no idea if this is the fix but you could try it.
I have an external Intel 80g hard drive that just stop showing up and was acting like what you described. I also had an annoying problem with my office trying to reinstall. When I followed a friends advice to fix the office problem it also fixed the hard drive problem like a charm.
I uninstalled the hard drive completley.
did a search (including hidden files) for any normal.dot files and removed them.
THAT'S IT
easy huh--I am so excited! haha
let me know if it works for you.
