You don't need to worry about master and slave with the Sata drive. Master/slave setting are more to do with IDE drives.
All you have to do if you want to use the IDE drive as the Master drive with your OS on there is go to the Bios and enter the area called Boot area. Then, go down to the Hard Drive Priority area and set the drive you want to boot from as First in that list. In this case, that would be the IDE drive. NOw, the Sata should just be another drive on your system you can use.
