My old computer became disfunctional and we had to replace it. It was XP, now we have Vista. I'd like to retrieve some files on my old drive, and I removed it already from the old computer. (The hardrive is a Barracuda 7200.7 - 160 GB) My new computer is an Acer 5100. Is my old hardrive configured for my new computer? I don't have the hardrive manual. I'd like to just insert the old drive, copy the files to a USB key, remove the old drive then put the new one back in its place. Is there any risk in doing so?
