[SOLVED] PSU help - I may have picked the wrong one
I tried to do some searching on symptoms and the like and cant seem to get what I need. I apologize it this is a duplicate post.
I have the following
Silverstone case
Intel 975 XBX2 Mobo
Intel Q6600 Quad Core @ 2.4 (not oc'd)
2 - Seagate SATA 80 in RAID 0
1 - 92mm fan
2 - 80mm fans
1 - Rosewill Z3 CPU cooler with 92mm fan w/ LEDs
1 - DVD-RW w/ lightscribe
4 - 1GB DDR2 Crucial Balistix (4x1gb)
1 - ATI 1650 Pro (passive cooling)
1 - Seasonic 430W 80+ efficient PSU
I wanted to use this PC for capturing, editing, and encoding video. I currently use Vegas 8. During the encoding process the application freezes or produces artifacts in the encoded video.
My possible mistake, I just bought a 550w from newegg and fear I may have made a mistake in doing so.
Is the 430w enough???... the go lite says I need 353w PSU
Am I smoking crack and didnt configure properly and a 550w still wont be enough?
Did I get the correct size? (550w)
Is this crashing even related to the PSU? (I have reinstalled OS 3 times in one week).
Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
