Re: My Vista doesn't start!!!
Hi cephyr. . .
Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support!
It is possible that one of the 60 or so Windows Vista Updates that "flew" into your computer did not successfully install or resulted in "friction" with updates that would have come in from the PCs manufacturer. Also, it may be related to Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) if your PC was eligible for such.
There are two reports that I would like to see for detailed system information. (1) A Belarc Advisor report saved in "mht" format (Top right of IE7 screen; Page; Saved as; save as mht). You can download Belarc HERE; (2) A DXDiag report - START | type dxdiag into the Start Search box | right-click on dxdiag.exe | select Run as Administrator | respond to User Access Control prompt. Then save this report as a text file. Please see my PM that I sent to you for details on where to send the files. My results will then be posted here in this thread.
These can be run in SAFEMODE with Networking. Also - since you just got the computer in the last 24 hours - is there any reason that we can't reset it to the factory default (the way it was when you opened the box and turned it on) if this option is available?
Do you own a full retail copy of Vista Ultimate (did you but it) - or did it come pre-installed on the PC?
Regards. . .
