Okay so I just bought a new motherboard, a Asus Striker II Formula, right? So I install it.. hook everything up.. and I get nothing, everything comes on but then nothing happens after that.. no video, no post.. no beeps.

So I am thinking the motherboard is defective.. but to make sure I didnt accidently break something during install..

I tried several video card combination.. tried video card on my old motherboard.. (got video, posted.. but it shut itself down shortly after since I had no cooling on the processor)

So heres what I did.. set up a motherboard outside the new case, while the new motherboard was mounted in the new case.

My old Motherboard is a striker Extreme.. so I put my quad core (Q6600 Go) on it, my video card (BFG Nvidia 8800 GTS 640mb) and one stick of dominator 1066 DDR2 ram.. and I got to post

Now I installed all of that into the new motherboard and again it wouldnt post, no video.. everything came on but no post or video.

I tried different ram and a different processor in the new motherboard as well and still got no post.. sometimes it will turn on.. then turn itself off.. then once you turn it on a second time. It stays on.

So did I get a defective motherboard or am I doing something wrong?

If I got a defective motherboard going to RMA it this evening.. assuming I cant get it working.
