Judas
wow...it is apparent that some people just don't get the big picture...
James Carville's recent comparison of Bill Richardson to Judas just proves my point, and on this Easter morning I just have to put the picture straight...
yes, according to scripture Judas turned in Jesus for 30 pieces of silver...
but lets take a deep breath, a nice Thalamic pause, and clear our heads of our prejudices...
Jesus was the Son of Man (or son of God if you prefer)...he was according to common belief the Savior and therefor was 'all knowing'...hence he knew Judas would do what he did...and that was all part of the 'plan'...if Judas had not 'turned Jesus in' then history would most likely be a bit different...reading the story of the Last Supper it is apparent that Jesus basically commanded Judas to do what he did..
we should all be aware that Martyrs stand out far more than those that live a 'normal' life...by this logic Jesus' crucifixion was 'necessary' and again part of the 'plan'...His words have survived through the centuries and many still try to live by them...would this be the same if he had lived his life out 'normally'? I for one say no, they wouldn't have...
by the above logic it should be clear that Judas was for all intensive purposes doing God's bidding, and therefor to use him as a term to bash others with is a contradiction in terms of monumental proportions....
on this Easter Sunday I challenge the readers of this post to spend some time reading the words of Jesus...pay attention...then perhaps take the time to read the other parts of the New Testament where Paul/Saul/the anti-christ who had an epileptic fit on the road to Damascus twists the words of Jesus to his own ends...
the words "turn the other cheek" are widely misinterpreted....act out the scenario as Jesus phrases it with the caveat that there were no left handed people in that time (let me back that up...1: people cleaned their bumms with their left hand and ate with their right hand 2: the words dexter and sinister are from that period of time though not in Jesus native language...dexter = dexterity = right handed...sinister = evil = left handed)....
can anyone give a start as to what 'turn the other cheek' really means??????
