can only think that it was a bad flash ??? I use 1003 with no drama. do you have you bios set to,

Onboard IDE Operate Mode= Enhanced
Enhanced Mode Support On= S-ATA
Configure S-ATA as RAID= Yes
Serial ATA BOOTROM= Enabled
IDE Detect Time Out= 35

you could also try resetting the bios with the jumper on your board or taking the battery out for a while and see if that helps but failing that if they will RMA it I would give that a shot.
