My System

Re: Building Computer need help. PSU or Mobo problem

What we need to make sure of is that no part of the bottom of the mother board is touching the motherboard tray. The only part of the board that should be touching metal is the back face plate. And only when it goes against the back ports and so forth. Make sure that it is straight and lined up so that the corner isn't touching the case.

I have a friend at work that just put together a really good system and brought to me because it would not even turn on. He paid close attention to what parts I told him to get and I think that is the only reason he didn't screw his whole system. He screwed a brand new Asus motherboard with a C2D 3.0 right down to the motherboard tray. I credit that the fact he purchased the PC Power and Cooling PS, I suggested, to the fact that it wouldn't even power up. Otherwise I think he would have screwed his board up if not more. He had built many systems before, but he forgot the stand offs this time.
