Wireless to Wirless network problems
I am trying to set up my wirless network.
Equipment - Cable modem connected to a linksys wrt54g wireless router.
WRT54G settings ip add 192.168.1.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 with a dhcp server ip addresses 192.168.1.100 to 149. Security set as WPA2 Tkip + AES 64bit, with personal code. Connected to this router i have a NAS on a static Ip 192.168.1.50 and my main desktop PC. I have 4 latops that connect wirlessly with DHCP assigned Ip address thety all conect ok and can browse the internet no problems.
The problem arrises when i try to connect 3 other desktop pcs and a network printer with jet direct card. Jet direct card settings ip address 192.168.1.5 subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway ip 192.168.1.1. The 3 desktop PCs are set to obtain ip address from dhcp they are connectd to a 10 port hub. To allow these to conect to the main network as it is not suitable for me to run a network cable i have purchased a linksys WET54G wireless bridge. I ahve connected this bridge wired to the main router as suggested in the setup documents.
I ahve then been able to connect to the wet54g web setup page, throughb ip address 192.168.1.226 with subnet 255.255.255.0. On the setup page i can search for wirless networks and can see my current one. I am able to get the wet54g to connect wirelessly to the network and set all security features, there is also a status page that shows that i am connected wirelessly and data is flowing. Howeve once i disconnect form the main router and connect the wet54g to the 2nd network i am unable to access the internet or any shared devices on the 1st network. If i try to connect to the wet54g steup page i can from the 2nd network but not the first and likewise i can connect to the wrt54g setup page form the 1st network but not the 2nd. I know i have sufficeent signal strenght to connect to the main network for the position of the 2nd network as my laptops will connect aware in th ebuilding to the main network.
Please can someoen advise on this situation
Many Thanks
Julian
