Problems with registry when loading programs

I need help!!!

I can't load almost any program on my system as I get registry errors and the program, be it downloaded or from a CD Rom, the program load stops, gives me the error code and then uninstals.

Here is my System:

Intel processor 1.7 GHz
250 MB Ram
80 G HD

Installed software:

Win XP Home with SP2
Office Pro 2002
Folder Security Personal v 4.0
Camedia Master 2.0
CAD Standard
3D Cal32
Adobe 6.0 Professional
Norton Internet Security 2008
Intel application Accelerator

I would like to install IE7 and some other software but when I attempt, I get a message that there are Registry problems in CLSID. Going to the MS help site and try their fixes, none works. I am logged on as an Administrator with full privileges and it tells me that I can write to the registry.

Registry cleaners/repair don't work and I am tired of paying for stuff that don't work.

The only thing I have not tried was to attempt an install in the Safe Mode with the Norton product disabled. I do not want to do a reinstall of windows and all the software. This problem seemed to start when I installed the Norton 2008 software, which was the last piece of software installed after setting up the system.

Windows updates and Norton updates install good. I have downloaded IE7 and attempted to install and it stops with an error and then uninstalls. Try all the MS help info and nothing works.

I am starting to get a little PO'ed as I would like to install some other MS products but can't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will take e-mails or anything to resolve this problem.

Thanks,
Trixiet
