I would look in your DEVICE MGR (right click on MY COMPUTER, select DEVICE MANAGER). Look for a YELLOW question mark for your CD. This is a good indication that you just need to update or reinstall your driver.
I would go to the COMPAQ website, look up the model of your computer and download a new copy of the driver. Reinstall the driver and reboot your computer.
