2 day new HP Pavilion dv2710 overheating

Turn it on and start surfing and in five minutes the upper left hand corner and AC adaptor are BURNING hot.
I called HP support and they had me do a few things that did not help.
Unfortunately I purchased it online at Circuit City. Not only is the closest CC 200 miles away, but if I want to return, it must be as an exchange or suffer a 15% restocking fee.

HP only refers me back to Circuit City.

I've had it only two days and other than overheating it's pretty nice. I've looked online and it seems as tho this hot stuff occurs a lot with HP's in general.

Should I:
A)Drive the 200 miles and exchange it for a new model, knowing it could suffer the same problem? (I'm an old lady and hate to drive that far!)

B)Suffer the 15% loss (about $110) and chalk it up to experience.

C) Spend $30 and have my local computer whiz look at it and see if it could be an easy fix. (Darn-I just got it 2 days ago new!)

Your input most appreciated...... Nancy
