Re: advantages of running two hd's

I feel it is fastr to use two HDs, i was going to set my old desktop up with a small hard drive for the OS and keep most of the other programs on the other hard drive. Also divide programs between the two HDs that i would use at the same time. This just help when you are trying to access a lot of data off the hd so with two it can go to both and not have as long of a list to retriee as it would with one. This is just what i believe though. There is also RAID configurations (i dont know a lot about them) but they are supose to increase preformance and help with any problems that may come along. RAID i think uses two or more hard drives with the same data on them. Not sure if the HD themselves have to be the same or anything like that.

Plus the extra space is always good just to have and you can use the second as a backup to the first even.
