Re: Maxtor Basic "code 10"
it asked me to put a letter on the drive and after I scanned them none of the files on that came up after the scan were from the hard drive and the size it said the drive was, was wrong. I called Maxtor and they kept telling me it was a driver problem and that I need to call Dell. Called Dell and they said wasn't their problem. Tried it on 2 other computers in the house and got the same problem. Call Maxtor back to explain that it isn't just my computer that the problem shows up on, and of course couldn't make them understand that. Plus I could hardly understand the person and it seems they are just reading from a script. When I do a test on the drive it says it is working properly. It just won't start and get the yello ! in the usb port. If my hair wasn't so short I would be pulling it out!!! I will buy a new drive but really would like the info on the old one. Any suggestions on a new one??
