Hi all -I'm looking for help with installing and older seagate Barracuda 7200.7 hard drive (on an IDE cable) into a system already using 2 SATA drives, obviously on SATA cables. I've got the jumper on the IDE drive set to slave and I'm connecting the slave connector on the IDE cable at the drive end. The system end of the IDE cable is connected to the Primary IDE slot on the mobo (ASUS A8N32 deluxe). The problem is when I boot the system is trying to boot off the newly introduced IDE drive and I get the obvious error message due to lack of OS. When I enter the BIOS the main page shows the 7200.7 as 'Primary IDE slave' and the other 2 drives are as they have always been which is 'Third IDE master' & 'Sixth IDE master'.
Not sure what I'm missing but would like to add the ATA drive as a 3rd hard drive option. Any help would be appreciated.
