Thanks much for your response. Why would you think its the backlight? Was it due to the comment in my first post stating that the monitor dimmed a bit? If so, then thats not it. The only reason the monitor dimmed a bit is because I have different brightness settings for battery power and AC power. As soon as AC power went off, the battery went on, thus dimming the monitor.

I've now used up the entire battery.. so I can't use the computer anymore!
