download and run Getdataback for FAT

this is a trial version >>>>> scan your drive with this / if you can see your data and the file structures and directories look good / then pay for the full version to recover your data

then afterwards / scan the drive with the western digital hard drive diagnostic utility (free) to check the mechanical condition of this drive
