Re: Secondary IDE Channel No 80 Conductor Cable Installed

Hi Submurge,
The IDE cable Tumbleweed is refering to is the ones that go to your HD and CD-Roms.
To replace the cable (I think the one you need is for the HD) Disconnect the power supply. Open the case to your PC. Touch any metal part of the case to discharge Static Electricity on you. If you look inside the case you may see 2 thick ribbon cables (one goes to the mobo/HD and the other goes to MoBo/CD-rom). Disconnect the cable from the HD and Mobo. The cable can only go one way into the slots so do not force them (they have a notch). The Blue end goes to the MoBo and the Black end goes to the HD. If you have 2 HD then the master is the black end of the cable and the slave is the gray end.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Bill
Sorry- Tumbleweed, I did not see you online
