If 3D design is your bag then DON'T move up to Vista. When I was using Vista Ultimate I found only ONE of my 3D programs worked out of about 5 I use regularly. I couldn't accept an 80% failure rate so I reverted back to XP and have been happy since. You can happily and easily install and use up to 3GB of RAM with XP which is good for games and perfect for designing.
