Re: Virus protection does not turn on when I boot Vista

I have found that Vista sometimes gives a "false" message when booting up by indicating that the Antivirus program is not running. When one checks the antivirus, it is running indeed. I have found this with Antivirus programs that are Vista compatible also.

I have found this with AVG Free, AVG Pro, AVG Internet Security, CA, McAfee, but can't recall it happening with Norton.

JoshTong, you must make sure that your version of Officescan is Vista compatible. The AVG Free is a good bet to go with. I use either AVG Free or AVG Pro with Windows Defender for my clients. The great thing with any AVG product, one can download definition updates, burn to CD and do manual updates on PC's not hooked up to the 'net.
