DLed AVG free and AdAware. A scan with AdAware found one threat (and 254 incidences of trackers) which I deleted. Now running AVG scan but thus far no threats detected. I think I'll ignore the Trend Micro client. I used AVG before that and I only switched to TM because it came with the laptop.
