Second HDD

Hi everyone

OK here's my problem:

Recently purchased a second SATA HDD, went to install and it seemed to conflict with the Original one. Tried all the SATA ports with no luck, changed cable still no joy would not boot to windows with the second HDD in. Looked in BIOS and everything is set to Auto...

Right I thought it was a SATA problem, then bought a 320GB IDE HDD. connected it to IDE cable (Took out existing second DVD ROM). Not recognised, then tried an IDE SATA converter still not recognised. Would boot to Windows ok but soes not appear in My Computer?

It seems that my MoBo will not detect any secondary HDD no matter what configuration I try. Have tried (where appropriate) selecting Slave, Cable Select, etc still no joy?!

I have an Asus p5B mobo, 160GB Samsung SATA HDD, Windows XP Home (SP2), LG DVD Multi Drive, Intel Core 2 Duo and 3GB RAM, BIOS is JMMicron I think?

Any help would be greatfully received you guys!

Many thanks & best wishes
