Hi -

I'm glad your machine is running better now.

What didn't work in Firefox excluding online scans and Windows Update? I use Firefox almost exclusively, and have no troubles using any of the links.

The only things which should require IE are the online scans and Windows Update, which we do say to use IE.

I don't see anything in our steps which mentions updating IE, other than the section for those XP users who have no Service Packs installed at all. For those with IE7, this would not generally apply.

FYI, you can use IE Tab add-on for FireFox, and perform most IE functions completely within Firefox.
