I followed your advice and ran Event viewer, and it was crammed full of errors, it also gave a message that it was unable to acccess some administrator logs.

Question: I don't have a copy of Vista, just the OEM that came with the PC I also have a "Product Recovery" CD that camewith the laptop, what is it for?
