Just for kicks I tried to download and install iTunes 7.5 for the newer ipods and I recieved the same error message 1406. In fooling around with the ipod I found a page with model numbers. The info is as follows; 20 gb, version 3.1.1, model#m928211, Format-windows. Don't know if it helps, but can't hurt, eh? As I've said, "I know NOTHING about ipods!
