Cry Crying on Xmas. Can't Install

Hi Guys and Dolls!!

I’m having a doozie of a problem here and I’m really to stoo-pid to figure it out. First let me lay out my machine. I have a AMD 64 3500+ processor running at 2199mhz and 2gb memory. I have win xp sp2 build 5.1.2600. My problem is I bought a used ipod for my young grandson who for some reason desperately wanted one but is too young for me to squander $200. bucks on one that he’ll probably lose in 6 mos. If he does do well with this then maybe I’ll save up and spoil him with a video one for next xmas. But I digress. For some reason I cannot install itunes on my computer. I’m going directly from the disk which is in good shape, I’ve checked my hi-speed usb ports, I’ve turned off McAfee virus protection when installing, I can’t figure it out. Error codes reads as follows:
· Error 1406- Could not write value to key\ software\classes\.ccda\open with list\itunes.exe. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
· Error 1402- Could not open key; Hkey_local_machine\software\classes\.ccda\open with progids. Contact your support personnel.
· Error 1603- Fatal error during installation. Consult windows installer help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more help.
My poor aged brain just went Huh?? I've got to run out and find a replacement present for Devin but please help if possible and I'll try anything you have.
I don’t know if I’m posting this in the right place but if anyone has a solution I would dearly appreciate it. Thanks!!
