bluetooth not working on my laptop

i recently had to open my laptop up to clean things up a bit and add new thermal paste. everything works great except for my bluetooth... i know the chip is plugged in because i had to reopen it when i saw the chord hanging out one of the vents in the back. when i checked my device manager it said that there were no drivers and was unable to function... so i ran a search for drivers and nothing came up. would anyone know where to look for the drivers or another possible solution?

laptop is a hp pavilion zd8230us
pentium 4 650 ht, 2gb patriot pc6400
100gb hdd, running vista ultimate.

if you need any other info, let me know
