I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 with a D-Link Plus DWL G650 wireless card. I use it when I travel. At one particular rural location, I have been connecting to someones Linksys network or router in the area. It is listed as unsecured and running at 54mbps. Each time I visit this particular area, I am able to connect. The, last four or five trips to the same area I have been unable to connect to the internet although it still shows that I am connected to the same unsecured network at 54mbps. When trying to do a search, it says the network is not available. When trying to pull up my email, it will not connect and gives me an error message. Any idea what my problem is? Could it be their modem is turned off but their router is still on or visa versa?
