Can your motherboard handle 300 MB's or 150 MB's transfer speeds? Most new HD's do 300 out of the box, but there is a jumper to slow it down to 150. My older motherboard when it had a 300 MB attached, it didn't see the drive. I had to slow the transfer speed down.
